ELBA FIRE DEPARTMENT

The Elba Fire Department is 100% volunteer. The department covers 100 miles of first due coverage area while also providing mutual aide assistance to surrounding fire departments. The department operates on first out pumper (Engine 1), one second out pumper (Engine 3), one reserve/brush pumper (Engine 4), one quick attack/rescue truck, one brush truck and one command vehicle. The department is comprised of 28 members holding various certifications with some active or retired career firefighters. Several members are certified Emergency Medical Technicians ranging from Basic to Paramedic with the majority or remaining members being First Responder/CPR certified. Mutual assistance is offered to the local county ambulance company.

The Elba Volunteer Fire Department responds to approximately 175 - 200 calls per year ranging from hazardous material incidents, car accidents, fire, technical rescues, gas spills, natural gas leaks, and standby for medevac landings.

The Elba Fire Department has received and ISO rating of 4/4X effective September 1, 2014.
